By resolution of the Faculty Senate dated 9.7.1930 the Chair for Radiology
and Physical Therapy was founded, and in 1931, the assistant professor
Ganslmayer was appointed the first head of this new Department. In 1933,
the premises of the Department were built, in which radiology facilities;
X-ray for domestic animals and equipment for physical and radiology therapy
were installed.
The Department of Radiology and Physical Therapy changed its name into the
present name in 1995.
Two subjects are lectured in 4th year of undergraduate studies. Those
are: "Radiology" and "Physical Therapy". In "Physical Therapy" the
principles of ultrasound diagnostics and other diagnostic procedures using
artifical energy soruces are lectured.
At the Department radiological and ultrasound diagnostics and physical
therapy of small, middle-sized and big domestic animals are performed.
Experimental research and undergraduate and postgraduate studies make also
part of the activities carried out at the Department.
