<\/p>\nThe project “Reaching beyond borders: enhancing communication and English proficiency in veterinary medicine education – VETCOM” was approved for financing from the funds of the Erasmus+ program, Collaborative Partnerships in Higher Education. 3 partner institutions from North Macedonia, Croatia and Ireland participate in the project, and the coordinator of the project is the Veterinary Faculty of Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje. The implementation of the project started in October 2024, and will last 24 months (until October 2026). The entire project budget is \u20ac120,000 with 100% EU funding. The local coordinator of the project at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb is Prof. Dr. sc. Nino Mace\u0161i\u0107.<\/p>\n
The general goal of this project is to produce high-quality specialists, doctors of veterinary medicine through the study of veterinary medicine in English. This will be achieved through project activities that include improving the curriculum, English language skills and communication skills of teachers and administrative staff at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Skopje in partnership with the Atlas Language School and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Zagreb.<\/p>\n

Key activities of this project include the development of a customized curriculum for an English language and communication skills course for veterinary medicine teachers. There will also be training for teaching and administrative staff at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Skopje. The project continues with the exchange of experiences with the Veterinary Faculty in Zagreb with a similar program. This process will end with the translation, adaptation and digital transformation of teaching and administrative materials at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Skopje.
\nThe results of the project are a new, adapted curriculum for learning English for teachers and administrative staff working on admissions to English language studies at the faculties of veterinary medicine; trained teaching and administrative staff for subject-specific vocabulary in English; improved curriculum and English language study program at the faculties of veterinary medicine; and digital access to all administrative and teaching materials in English for students at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Skopje.<\/p>\n
