In the collection of the Institute of Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, there are bone preparations of entire animals of which some deserve particular mention: a leopard (Panthera pardus), an African ostrich (Struhio camelus), a loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) and a giraffe (Giraffa camelopardalis). The museum also has individual parts of the bodies of some animals, such as the skulls of a white rhino (Ceratotherium sirnum) and a fin whale (Balaenoptera physalus).
