AUF

AUF (L’Agence universitaire de la francophonie) – the Francophone University Agency, of which the University of Zagreb has been a full member since 2007, regularly publishes calls for applications for scholarships and projects for exchanges and training for students, researchers (PhD students and post-doctoral students), and teaching staff of universities who are members of AUF, and for scientific projects and other activities by institutions of higher education, in order to develop higher education, and scientific and professional research.

It includes more than 1000 members – institutions in more than 100 countries around the world.

Croatian candidates may stay at one of the AUF member universities around the world.  Croatia comes under the Office for Central and Eastern Europe, based in Bucharest, Romania.

Candidates are primarily encouraged, by priority in selection, to undertake mobility and projects in members under the same office, apart from in justified circumstances when it is possible to realize projects outside the relevant region and office.

The requirement for candidates and project proposers is knowledge of French, but it is not necessary to demonstrate this by means of any certificate.

Co-mentoring (so-called cotutelle) is encouraged, as well as joint studies, and there are also scholarships available for PhD, post-doctoral studies, visiting lecturers, student exchanges, participation at conferences etc.
