Incoming Student Mobility for Traineeship – Instructions and Notifications

Dear student,

Warm greetings from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Zagreb. Thank you for your interest in our programme and school, especially in the Student Mobility for Practice at our University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (UVTH). We are very pleased with the positive feedback from your classmates and other students. It is possible to undertake an SMP mobility placement in our UVTH training.

If you are interested, we recommend making a reservation as soon as possible, but please ensure you follow the application process for ERASMUS+ SMP. At our UVTH, practical training focuses on small animals (pets), including rotations in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases, Radiology and Physical Therapy, Reproduction Clinics, Exotic Animals Departments, and the Wildlife Rescue Centre.

You may also include the Department of Pathology in your rotation at the Clinic of the VTH; this is optional and available upon request.

We highly recommend submitting the following:

  1. CV in Europass format (maximum 2 pages)
  2. Letter of Recommendation written by one of your teachers on official Faculty letterhead, with the signature and stamp of the institution
  3. B2 certificate of English language (or other valid certification from the Sending Institution – Faculty); you can take a language self-assessment test on the European platform for testing English language EU ACADEMY: https://academy.europa.eu/local/euacademy/pages/course/community-overview.php?title=learn-a-new-language
  4. Certificate of enrolment in your studies and credentials of preclinical and clinical subjects – transcript of records
  5. Indicate the exact dates of the mobility period

After receiving your documentation, we will evaluate your credentials and inform you of our decision.

If necessary, Prof. Sven Menčik, PhD, DVM (smencik@vef.unizg.hr), our Erasmus+ Coordinator, will review the documentation and schedule a Zoom meeting

The Learning Agreement (LA) for ERASMUS+ SMP mobility should be completed by the sending institution; we will fill in the details for the practical training. Please provide the Word version (not PDF format).

Private insurance is mandatory at our Faculty during the SMP mobility; it must be arranged before the mobility, after the LA is approved.

Please complete the administrative procedures in good time, as we require official confirmation of your arrival as soon as possible due to high demand.

Housing opportunities (student dormitories) are not included or provided.
