Rector’s Award for the academic year 2018/2019

The Rector’s Award committee has reviewed the student papers proposed by the components of the University of Zagreb, and selected a total of 161 papers, in six categories. 

Four papers from the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Zagreb have received the Rector’s Award, written by four students from the integrated course in veterinary medicine in Croatian, and one student from the integrated course in veterinary medicine in English.  The prize-winners were:

Valentina Margić and Patrik Meglić for the paper: Verification of the effectiveness of biological and chemical preparations in inhibition of the growth of the fungus Macrorhabdus ornithogaster, in vitro;

Nikolina Škvorc for the paper: Pathological and histological characteristics of lesions caused by the liver fluke Fascioloides magna in red deer;

Toni Maleš for the paper Post-natal fusion of skull bones in the common bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) from the Adriatic Sea;

Ingo Ralph Albin Lobpreis for the paper: The morphometric features of erythrocytes in Lika pramenka sheep.

Congratulations to our students!

The Rector’s Awards presentation ceremony will be held on Wednesday, 3rd July 2019 at 11.00 a.m. in the Congress Hall of the Economics Faculty of the University of Zagreb, Kennedyjev trg 6. During the award ceremony an exhibition will be organized of posters of award-winning papers by the recipients of the Rector’s Award, and will be open from 3rd to 10th July 2019 at the Economics Faculty.


Instructions for setting up the exhibition of posters by winners of the Rector’s Award

The boards for the posters will be set up in the corridor in front of the Congress Hall at the Economics Faculty, Kennedyev trg 6.  Posters should be created by recipients of the Rector’s Award in categories a) and b). There is one poster board for each award-winning paper.

The posters must be set up no later than by 10.00 a.m. on Wednesday 3rd July, 2019, and the boards will be accessible to students from Tuesday 2nd July.

Award-winning students must affix their posters to the board.  The posters must be 110 cm in height and 85 cm wide.  The space for the posters is divided in length into three parts: the header, the middle and the footer.  The header and the footer should occupy the entire width of the paper.  The height of the header is 14 cm, and the height of the footer is 10 cm. They are separated from the central part of the poster by a horizontal line across the paper.  In the left-hand corner of the header, place the sign and logo of the University, in blue, 12 cm in height.  Write the title of the paper in the header (96 pt high), and the name of the author under the title, as follows:  Name, Surname (letter height 48 pt). Both texts must be justified on the left margin, in Times New Roman font, and in blue ink.

In the footer, place the sign and title of the Faculty/Academy, the institute and contact information of the author (e-mail address), and if relevant a link to the web side on which the paper has been published.

The central space is intended for a description of the paper.  Award winners must remove their posters themselves on 10th July (otherwide we will not be able to store them).
