Teaching life skills in medical education – 24th Graz Conference in Budapest

The Graz Conference is a traditional European conference on medical and veterinary education which was launched by 4 Austrian medical doctors in 1995 and despite the name of the event the conference location rotates. This year it will be organized for the 24th time and the location is the beautiful capitol of Hungary, Budapest on 16th – 18th April 2020. The venue is the historic campus of the University of Veterinary Medicine in the center of the city.

The conference focuses on the teaching of life skills in medical and veterinary education which is a recently rising topic. Besides professional skills the fresh graduates need to be prepared for so called life skills such as communication, empathy, resilience, digital and entrepreneurial competences.

The keynote speakers are coming from all over Europe (Germany, Netherlands, UK, Poland, Macedonia) and they are well known experts of these fields.  Topics will include lectures and workshops such as:

“Rapid expansion of Clinical Skills Labs in Veterinary Establishments”
„Students as creators”
“Communication in vets – why and how could we make it better?”
“What research tells us about positive and negative mental well-being”
“Entrepreneurship Education in Medicine”
“Developing competence models: From theory to practice”
