Round table – Challenges in Veterinary Practice Today

20.02.2026., Novosti

At this round table, we open an honest and stigma-free conversation about mental health in the veterinary profession—an issue too often normalized, hidden, or discussed only in silence. We’ll talk about the real sources of stress veterinarians face today, from client expectations and financial pressure to burnout, emotional exhaustion, and staff shortages. Special focus will be placed on emotionally demanding client relationships, setting boundaries without guilt, and the hidden toll of euthanasia and moral stress. The discussion will also explore how stress manifests differently, why seeking help is still difficult, and how professional culture can either worsen or ease the burden. Finally, we’ll move beyond problems to solutions, focusing on prevention, concrete coping strategies, institutional support, and when professional help is truly needed. This panel is about shared responsibility, real change, and reminding veterinarians that they are not alone.

Join us at the round table on Monday, 23 February, 2026, from 4PM in the Main Lecture Hall!
