PLACEMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS – Universidad Autonoma Barcelona
Student Mobility for Placements available in SPRING 2020

You can spend a placement period on the following Services:
Ecopathology and Wildlife Service (SEFAS)
3 months to be done between January and June 2020
Capture and handling of wild animals. Control of urban and peri-urban boars. – Control of urban pigeons. Ecology studies of wild fauna.
Study of outbreaks of disease. Necropsies of wild fauna.
Pathological Anatomy Service – Stay in the SDPV
3 months placement to be done between January and May 2020
To provide knowledge of basic principles of general pathology and special veterinary pathology. In the stay, the visitor will be involved in pathology diagnostic rotations on surgical pathology and necropsies in the Servei de Diagnòstic en Patologia Veterinària (SDPV) at the Veterinary School, positively evaluated by the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education (EAEVE), in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).The Veterinary School of the UAB is since 2006 a ECVP Registered Residency Training Centre recognized by the ECVP. This diagnostic training should facilitate the development of knowledge, skill and proficiency through exposure of a wide variety of diseases and species with the guidance and collaboration of senior pathologists. Non on-duty time is allotted for literature review, basic and applied sciences study and research training
Veterinary Laboratory Diagnostic Infectious Diseases
3 months placement to be done between January and May 2020
Field work in pig farms and laboratory work in relations infectious diseases.
Animal Nutrition and Welfare Service (SNiBA)
Minimum 3 and maximum 6 months placement to be done between January and May 2020
Ingredient and product nutritional evaluation.
Feed Quality and security
Production efficiency and animal health
Animal Behaviour and welfare
– 2 months only on Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, Imaging and Horses (February and March 2020)
– 2 months only on Internal Medicine, Intensive Care, Imaging and Horses (April and May 2020)
